Science and research have revealed a paradigm shift in understanding chronic pain and symptoms. Traditional treatment doesn’t work. We now know a better way, and it is based on science, research, and global studies.

20% of people around the world struggle with chronic pain and symptoms. We now know through science that most of them don’t have to.

Hi, I’m Sam

I was a film and TV actor for 30 years. I also struggled with chronic pain and symptoms for 20 of those years. I am here to help others find their way out.

I am now a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC-P) and a chronic pain specialist.

The work we do together is based on cutting-edge research and science.

I use evidence-based tools and therapies that are designed to work with the brain and nervous system — and ultimately remove the cause of the symptoms.

Through education and understanding, you will gain the knowledge of what is happening to you and why.

My work involves helping clients find their way out of chronic pain and symptoms so that they can lead healthy, more fulfilling lives. Together, we find the source (it’s often not what you think), and through evidence-based tools and techniques, we move you forward and get you your life back.

The Four Cornerstones

Education: the knowledge of what’s going on and why.

Understanding your place in the diagnosis: recognizing the symptoms and their causes.

The Work: the way out of chronic pain and symptoms.

New relationship with self: how to stay out.

The mainstream medical model says that chronic pain and symptoms are created by damage to the body, but modern pain science shows us that this is simply not true. It’s all about the brain and the nervous system and the danger signals that are being read incorrectly.

Hello Brain…Why the pain?

Pain and symptoms have a purpose. You aren’t broken. In fact, pain is doing exactly what it is supposed to do — warn you.

Pain and symptoms are sending you a message that your brain and nervous system don’t feel safe.

Pain is a beautiful tool. Sent by the brain to inform you of an incoming threat. HOWEVER, the brain doesn’t know the difference between a physical and an emotional threat.

Science now knows that physical threat and emotional threat are processed in the same part of the brain (the primitive brain).

This area is equally threatening to your survival, so it will send you danger signals regardless of which “threat” is present.

The brain is trying to protect you by sending pain to warn you, “Something is happening here that is making us feel unsafe.” The challenge here is that this is all happening just beneath your conscious awareness.

Fear is one of the great driving forces of chronic pain and symptoms. Once you know what is going on, fear usually fades.

There are 5 key causes of chronic pain and symptoms.

The learned neural pathway is one of them.

FEAR plays a huge part.
